Interlibrary Loan (ILLO) Service

If Wasaga Beach Public Library doesn’t have the item you’re looking for, our Interlibrary Loan (ILLO) service can help. Through ILLO, we can request materials from libraries across Ontario, allowing WBPL members to access a wider range of resources.

What Is an Interlibrary Loan?

An Interlibrary Loan is part of a province-wide network that connects patrons to public library collections across Ontario. If an item is unavailable in the Wasaga Beach Public Library collection, patrons may request up to four items per month from participating libraries.

How Do I Request an Interlibrary Loan?

To request an Interlibrary Loan, you must have a valid Wasaga Beach Public Library card. Here’s how:

Staff-Assisted Requests

Library staff can place a request on your behalf:
• In person at the front desk
• By phone
• Through our online Interlibrary Loan Request Form

Place Your Own Request

You may also request items yourself through an ILLO Patron Account.

To register, email our ILLO department at bookrequest.wbpl@gmail.com and include:
• Full name
• Address
• Home phone number
• Library card number

Once your account has been created, you will receive an email containing instructions on how to place your own Interlibrary Loan requests.

What Can I Request?

The following materials may be requested through Interlibrary Loan:
• Regular print books
• Large print books
• CD audiobooks

Items must have a publication date that is at least nine months old.

How Long Does It Take to Fulfill a Request?

Delivery times vary depending on the availability of the item.

• Many requests are filled within approximately 2 weeks.
• Harder-to-find items may take 6 weeks or longer.

Patrons will be notified when their requested item arrives or if we are unable to locate a lending library.
